I have had a Pink Spotted goby for awhile and added a yellow watchman goby a month or so ago. Though the pink spotted goby darts at the yellow here and there, we have not had any real concerns.

Yesterday I brought home a pistol shrimp and not 2 minutes after I put him in the tank, the yellow darted over they they immediatly paired up and started a den.

Problem is that the pink keeps darting over there and scaring the shrimp and chasing off the yellow.

Is this normal? Should I maybe get another pistol for the pink?

Its just so sad, yellow and pistol really want to be friends but pink aint having it......

Your thoughts?

Gobies are hit or miss with each other. If it's bad, I would move out the Pink. IMO.

I have a yellow watchmen goby and they will die to defend there hole. I am sure they will figure it out themselves but you might end up with one less goby. My goby and shrimp were inseparable then they had a tiff and they separated. Its a hard life on the reef.

Well Pink is my favorite but I feel bad for yellow and shrimp -

Pink is just being a jerk - you dont think just adding another shrimp might help?

I cant bear the thought of giving either up....

Looks like I was worried for nothing - when I got up today the pistol had dug quite a den under the largest rock in the tank and now he and yellow are happy as can be.

I hav'nt seen Pink bug them yet plus, Pink is too big to go in there anyway!

Well I havent seen the Yellow or the Pistol for about 2 days now (not even for feeding time).

The den they had is now inhabited by Pink but I did find what looks like a new den under some rock on the oppostie side of the tank.

I have looked all over and have not been able to find any sort of carcasses or anything like that...

Is there hope they are still around and just hiding for the last couple of days???

My YWG vanishes for weeks he will eat pods in the tank and has many homes under rocks, his shrimp is gone but he shows to perch on his ric bed now. My tank is full of caves and crevices they love that. I am sure he is just exploring with his shrimp buddy.

Oh good - that gives me some hope. Yellow has never disappeared for days like this so wasnt sure what to think

I can tell where he is when I see sand on a coral or a rock I know he snapped up a pod or something.

COOL!!! I came home to find new mounds around the tank so I know the shrimp was still around then all of the sudden Yellow popped out!!

Was worried for nothing as usual....

UGH - now I came home to find Pink in the den paired up with Pistol and poor Yellow is out all by himself again!

I am getting another Psitol for Yellow - poor guy!
