It won't be bryopsis. It's just been awhile since you did this. I was convinced I had it when I cycled the 450 but it went away in a few weeks.

Good to hear. I added a couple small rocks from someone's sump to help get the dead rocks live again. I didn't see bryopsis in his tank, so I was surprised to see bryopsis-like algae growing in my tank. I'll let it go for now, as I really don't want to start over. :lots:

Wow, it's been a year and a half since I did anything. Did some work to the back room, and am finally cutting a hole in the wall to get the tank set into place. : )

I would like to get a new protein skimmer, and I still need to figure out lights. Anyone care to educate me on this? Will go bare bottom tank, and most likely sps and some lps.

Hole cut in the wall from the fishroom:

With the tank in place and things all framed up, now just to touch up the paint:

Wow. Benihana was still around when you started this thread. :gay1:

Looking good though!

What lights are you thinking about?

Well, life keeps getting in the way!

Probably T5 or LEDs. Haven't decided. Would also like to get a different skimmer with a smaller footprint/height. Are the cone skimmers still all the rage?

Now you just need one of those 30" Copperband and your back in the saddle again. I swear that was the biggest copperband I had ever saw.

That thing was huge!

Help me pick out a skimmer and some lights, Grigor! Glad to see that you're still going strong.

I'm quite intrigued with setting up a portion of the sump to be an ats. What size do you think I'd need?

Finally got it all plumbed up:

Will empty the tank and start filling with RO/DI this weekend, acid wash some rocks, and start on some aquascaping. So, who sells the cheapest salt?
And, yes, it has been a while. Life is first, and I had some other projects I had to finish first before starting in on this. :)

Unfortunately gone are the days of $35 boxes of salt. Average price now around $50 +/-. Probably just as easy to just order a couple of boxes of Instant Ocean from Dr.Fosters and have it sent to your door.

I'm quite fortunate being in Northfield and having developed a great relationship with the little store in town. They took down their saltwater systems, but the owner orders enough boxes for me to get a discount. Last time I got salt it was $36, or their abouts, per box.

Otolith, the build is coming along nicely. The slow builds are the best IMO.

Here's a little of what I have been working on in the mean time:

Had to get all these boxes off the floor:

That is a nice collection. There is no way that much wine would be able to live in my home. Lol
