Thanks for the info! Will have to check out this point. Looks like it can be used externally, whereas some of them cannot.Definitely look into a DC pump. Hardly any noise out of mine at 100%. Speedwave is the brand I went with. They have one in the 1300 gph range but it is controllable so you could dial it back if needed. Also has a feed button which is pretty nice.
Do you run yours internal or external?I have the Speedwave 5000 on my 210 with 2 SeaSwirls and I run it wide open. I think it's perfect for my setup anyway. I corner mounted my SeaSwirls in the front corners so have a lot more travel then you will. You might not need wide open but that's the beauty of these pumps![]()
Good point. I'll have to see if I have enough room in the sump chamber that it can sit in there. While technically you could use as a externally its really not designed to do so but for sure covers the effecient part of the requirement. Effecient to begin with couple with being able to dial the gph you actually need is a nice feature. I'm not really sure how well dc pumps are going to handle the head pressure from the sea-swirls etc. If you did decided to give it a try, I'd be concerned about the orings since that is the only thing keeping the water out so if you did want to give it a try I'd place it in a "oil pan" so to speak with a water detector and alarm.

About time for an update???
