I've heard so much about CBB not eating well. Raccoons sound like they will be a bit easier to get to eat.

I think its hit or miss with CBB.... Unfortunately, the two that I bought weren't from SWE as Fritz wasn't open during that time.... They ate fine at the store and did eat fine in my tank (plenty of aptasia at the time) and did like mysis.... It seems that oyam has had his raccoon for a while though so that could be...

I think a Raccoon is probably our best bet unless someone has a CBB that they need to find a new home for. :biggrin:

I picked up a rcoon and a pearly scale from WOF today. I set them up in a 5 gallon quarantine tank with their own turboflotor skimmer and a heater. I put in a majano covered rock and the racoon starting picking at the little bastards within a minute. It is still early but my hopes are high. the pearlyscale hasn't touched them yet. The racoon is visciously tearing them off the rock but leaving them after that. it is not finishing the job and consuming the sticky little things which means they float away. It seems like the majaons must be stinging the fish as soon as it grabs them. If it does starting eating them then I will test other corals such as zoanthids and rics to see if they are safe.

Stan, that's great! Unlike aptasia, the mejanos, in my experience, do not regenerate after being injured, may be good enough.... Bet that pearlyscale is purty....

MattB yeah majanos regenerate and then some. Remember that real cold snap we had about a month ago? The high was around one degree. Well I pulled out my most infested majano rock and tossed it outside. I left it there for a few hours. I stuck it upside down and made sure snow covered every crevice and covered all the majonos. After a few hours I brought it inside and tossed it back in my sump. All the majano's bleached in color but survived. That is the rock the racoon is working on. I think majano's and cockroaches are the only thing that could survive a nuclear blast.:doh:
