So I got this as a email notification of a conversation started request. I did delete and never opened it up. Wondering if anyone else seen this or how they did this with out it showing up on the forum itself.

there was another round of spam this morning. the user is banned and ip addresses banned. Countering forum spam is a game of whack-a-mole

i also redacted the actual link in your original post, because without intending to, you spammed the forum with a link to the bad part of the internet :)

I should also say that the fastest way to get SPAM posts dealt with is to report the post and/or the user. That notifies us right away

Thanks @ikserk

This morning was I think the 3rd time I got some spam message in the last month or so. They must be bored.
As best I can tell, the accounts were manually created and then programmatically sent the posts/conversations. I have additional things going on, but don't want to publicize the defenses ;)

Oh yeah, alot of scammers have gone back to the old ways of manual work, so this being a small forum, I'm sure they don't hit it nearly as hard as the larger sites.
