Reef #2 - The Unplanned Upgrade (1 Viewer)

Are you saying just to 100% confirm the absolute value of the temperature? If so, I have used a couple of different calibrated thermometers to check if they are close. Such as the little digital thermometer, Hanna offers. And a clean instant read the thermometer.

I have not ever used a calibrated glass thermometer, which I know some people I have done.

Is that what you mean?

Yeah, I used a thermocouple thermometer and calibrated using ice water before testing my water. Then adjusted the Apex probe. Not sure if that is the correct way lol

Gotcha. So GHL "claims" they come pre-calibrated. When I tested mine it seemed to be basically in line with the Hanna digital temp probe. I guess I don't know for absolute certain, but I'm pretty sure I'm within a degree of what it says. And probably that's "close enough"?

I would say so, mine was off my 2 degrees which seems like a lot. I might have to order the Hanna one and retest to make sure

I assume it’s just a big piece of bubble algae. But because the color isn’t the normal green, and I don’t have any nearly that large anywhere else in the tank, I’m calling it “bounce leptoseris”

Probably the still picture doesn’t actually show it. But there is a bubble in the middle of that leptoseris that is very…..bubbly in the flow.
