Yup! I had the option a while ago and went Union and have not looked back!

Though, I will have to redesign soon when I swap tanks... but it will be unions then as well.

Unions would also let you use 45s in your design given the space restriction.

Thanks guys, I picked up unions and it definitely made life a lot easier.

Here's my newest and final design. All I have to add is the 2 PVC pipes going into the sump. The emergency will be about 1 inch above the water and the main drain will be submerged 4 inches from the bottom. Any thing I should know of before I glue this?

Its going to be a pain to adjust with the valve submerged. I'd redo that and put the valve between the two elbows.

get the union as close as you can to the bottom of the tank. shorten the pipes at the tank, this will move everything up, and give you more room to work with. Try to get the gate out of the sump and above the edge of it just to make it easier to work with.

Remember, anything glued to the tank and between the union will be hanging down from the bottom of the tank when you move it. make that as sort as possible so you can just set it on spacers while in transit.

Don't glue them too close though, it makes it hard to cut off if you need to remove it.

Hypertech, Merkurfan, Dusty and everyone else who gave some insightful advice, I really appreciate all your help and the sump is running now! Thanks again and have a good day
