Rod's reef 2.0! (1 Viewer)

Wanted to post a small update now that the tank has been running for over a month; The coral that was originally on the frag rack has been glued unto the live rock. I seem to still have an issue with some hair algae and while most my water parameters seem to be in regulation, i do have a slight increase in phosphates which i believe has been feeding the hair algae issue. As my lights run for a long period of time I'm going to decrease the time my LED's are run and i'm considering purchasing a reactor. If you have any tips i would appreciate it!

That blue hippo tang and rabbitfish outgrow that two foot tank yet? Those two types of fish grew the fastest for me.

Thanks guys, i really have to put new pics and upload a video as there has been so much added and changed to my tank since i uploaded these. The heater was left in the display as my sump is cube shaped and doesn't have the depth to fit the height of the heater. Otherwise yes i definitely would move it down there. The hair algae plague is finally gone as well, i also upgraded my skimmer to a reef octopus, upgraded to the TIR lenses for the radion, swapped out my clowns, added a few pieces to my livestock and alot of newer coral with placing emphasis in zoanthids/polys.

Blue hippo tang has doubled in size but still just slightly bigger then the chromis. The rabbit fish is getting there, and while i'm worried about him getting much larger he seems to be happier then ever and i already know it will be depressing letting him go :(

The finnex heaters at swe are pretty short. Especially the ones that are just a heating tube. If you have a controller to run it you wont need the one with a thermostat. Take a look, maybe one will fit.

The cobalt heaters are really short too. Shorter than the finnex heaters. If you lifted the water level in the overflow you could place the heater in the overflow as well.

Thanks bro! Appreciate it! I'm going to be uploading two videos below, one of tank when it was initially set up in August and the video being recorded about mid August and the second being today. Back then i barely had any corals, interesting to see them propagate out.

First update (Mid August 2012): Don't mind me rambling or the music
