I recall a while ago that there was a sea hare making his way around this forum (sort of a continuous FIF). Well I have a hair algae / bryopsis problem that no amounts of snails/ hermit crabs/ tangs or water changes can fix. So I'm seeing if anyone has a sea hare that has done his job and needs a new home. I promise to FIF once he does his thing in my tank.

Thanks!

Remember sea hare is not going to solve the root cause.

Have you made the necessary changes in your feeding habits, additional filtration and maintenance plans to solve ? Without doing that your problem will come right back once the sea hare is gone.

Thanks, David. I have been trying to pin down the source of my continuing algae problem (I know I'm not alone out there). I've cut down on feeding, change my light bulbs and decreased the amount of hours they are on, increased water changes, run carbon, you name it. I think I'm just caught in the vicious cycle of algae dying and then polluting the system again, causing more algae. I just thought a sea hare might help me turn the tide a bit....

GFO bro, get some GFO running and be sure you run propper amount for your tank, change it every 4 weeks till the HA is gone.

Thanks for the suggestion. Haven't tried GFO yet, but I know I probably should. Just thought I might try a more natural solution first....

Again, your "Natural" solution is not a solution just a bandaid. Keeping nutrients from building up in your reef is something your going to have to deal with at some point. GFO is one way. You need to weigh the pro/cons of each methodoligy and come up with one that works within your config and budget.

That sea hair went MIA a while ago. The ast person to own him can't find him.

What was the sea hair's name again?

Har-Mar pet shop have a couple that are large enough to swallow a tree, I cant recall the price but i believe it was reasonable.

Petco has 2 Sea hares in stock right now, 1 blue spot was really sweet. Don't know what the other was. $18 I think.
