Sea Level LFS Hopkins (1 Viewer)

Hey everyone, I have been following this post so I decided to drive over there today. I just got back. They are very limited in their salt water, but they seemed very knowledgeable. He had a lot of suggestions for me on lowering my nitrate (still at 20) in my biocube 14. They suggested a poly filter to help collect the large particles, cleaning my bio-balls, cleaning the sponge, cleaning the crushed coral (no sand bed :-( ), keeping the air stone clean on the skimmer, ...

They have a bunch of used stuff for sale, and a TON of freshwater stuff. So I guess if your looking for salt fish and corals, they are limited. But I think they care about their customers.

those are things anyone into saltwater could tell you. I also try to avoid going there cause once i had just got done talking to one of the employees and i went over the front of the store and looked at tanks and i heard one of the employees cussing, idk about you but if i worked there i would never sware when theres a kid in the store....

Or DA ;)

As I read all the negative stuff about Sea Level I just want to say, if you ever feel you did not have a good experience at my store, please.. PLEASE let me know. If I can fix the problem for you, I will :)

Deodorant........

Sponsorship or no sponsorship has no impact IMO. Good stores will get noticed.

I haven't been in many years ( if it's even the store I'm thinking of ) because it's primarily Freshwater.

not to be a pot stirer but the site was free LONGGGGGGGG before we had sponsors

Site was only free when we were at thereeftank. Once we seperated that is no longer the case.

In addition, once the decision was made ( I was not in favor btw ) to become a non-profit, there have been expenses that additional requirements which total approx. $1200 a year. Majority of which is insurance but also mailbox, hosting fees etc.. On top of that, we try to make all events ( including speaker event ) free of charge.

Sponsorship and raffles make all that possible.

But you are correct. We would exist with or without any sponsorship. It's just a matter of how it would be financed.

I can only speak for myself, if a business is a sponsor or not has no impact on my buying decisions. It just so happens that most are sponsors anyway.

I'm sorry, But Andrew It seem's like your trying to call them a bad store my friend... He didnt cuss infront of you I know they are atleast that polite..But I do also know John has sort of a bad mouth....You did say you were at the front of the store when this happened...Maybe somthing bad happened you cant just call them out on somthing like this....Sure it's more polite to not swear but..somtimes in the heat of the moment swear words just come out....I got caught in front of my grandma =( not good...

i never said that he swore in front of me, but he said it loud enough for everyone to hear. Im sorry i offended you but its just my opinion.

you must of not read it correctly, I ment he had the manner's to not swear infront of you. and he had the manner's to wait tell you where atleast in front of the store..

Have been a customer at Sea level (and Aqualand and WOF ...all not represesnted here) for the last five years... for all FW' stuff only, never had a bad experience. Although I have never bought Salty stuff from them, they were always right on the advice.
