I just got back from the Shedd and took a few (105) pics of their reef stuff.

There were Majano Anemones everywhere in their tanks unfortunately


This Sea Horse had a Majano growing on it's side


This clam is about 4' wide and 6' long!

I can't remember the name of this creature but it had coraline growing on it's shell and looked pretty cool. It's like a giant flat worm/sea slug but has a hard shell. I received one once in a mr coral shipment.

When were you there? I was in Chicago this week too!

I was there Monday. I was actually kind of unimpressed. There were way too many people and a bunch of idiots standing directly in front of stuff blocking views.

The animals in the "???" picture are garden eels. They're a species of moray that burrows into the sand and mimics sea grass.

Georgia Aquarium is the biggest, but I still think Shedd is the best *Variety and Quality of Livestock* Worth the trip. The New England Aquarium was "So-So" IMO.

I was at the Shedd aquarium in the summer. I really wasn't that impressed with the reef exhibits. The reef tank next to the frag tank was filled with brown coral. Their frag tank also contained like 3 species of coral. The dolphin show was pretty cool though.

I wonder if they were redoing their system/setup. When I was there it was full of corals/clams/nems/NPS etc.
