well, assuming babies could be raised, the first generation would be genetic carriers of the gene. From there, the quickest route may be breeding them back to the male. Then both parents would possibly carry the rare genetics and produce a % of offspring that are hypomelanistic. It's a long shot, but someone's gotta try
