With the constant and massive list of classifieds/frag it forward I'm wondering if there's a method of separating or clicking an additional link in the live feed to exclude them when not needed?

I’ve noticed a recent trend for members to list dozens of items from a tear down as individual threads which seems to really clog the feed.

there isnt.

below the latest posts is another listing (i'm guessing dont know its there) or just the recent classifieds. i.e. somce recent classifieds are on that page twice. The obvious suggestion is to remove classifieds from the latest posts lists at the top of the page. I'm hesitant to do that since all recent classifieds will be buried "below the fold".

Another more thoughtful approach might be to have three separate "What's New" pages. A combined one, a posts only, and a classifieds only. That seems reasonable to me.

What add-on are you using for the Live Feed?

stock Xenforo 2.x widgets

I am open to recommendations.
Not sure which widget it is but gives it you an option to include or exclude a particular forum?
If it does couldn't you use 2 widgets on the same page where one could exclude the classifieds and below another one with just the classifieds?

that's what its doing now.

first widget is all new posts, second is just classifieds, third is just sponsor posts.

I think what you are suggesting is just removing classifieds from the top widget. That seems heavy handed and would require someone to check 2 places to get the latest everything.

I would suggest that we split it to different pages, one page just has everything new, another page is non-classified posts, another is classified only posts. this way, the user can decide what version they want without burying classified down to the second widget on the page.

Disclaimer... Old man rants/jokes.

If you kids would just get off of your phones and use a desktop or laptop to access online information, you would have plenty of room to view everything.
When I was younger and wanted to peruse the classifieds, I had to find which section of the newspaper it was in and then go to the back where they started.
What in tarnation is a widget? Is that like a chipmunk or something?

Thought the OP was talking about the "Live Feed" in his posting?

Ya was looking at the Live Feed as I'm finding I like that in general much better (don't have new member posts get buried as easily) but there are just a ton of classifieds (also great). Sometime it would be nice to have a button at the top for 'threads only' or something while still defaulting to show everything on each visit.

Dunno, just thought it may help encourage conversations beyond threads we already subscribed to.

i can't find anything that'll make it work like that out of the box or an existing add-on. I have found something similar that I will try to hack at. The way i'm thinking of, it would add a toggle to the "Filter" dropdown in the upper right of the page to Show/Hide classified posts

Well you are the magic man but I'll try not to get my hopes up. Awesome if it works though!
