Sponge's are taking over! (1 Viewer)

So my pink sponge is taking over two different pieces of LR... It's also growing on some of my zoas which is not ideal.

Finally found an ID/explanation for it tho

Looks like it's not terrible for your tank put I definitely agree with the invasive part and will be scrubbing off as much as I can later this week.

Any updates on the rest of your guys' sponge problems?

I just pulled a few rocks as they were pissing off my acans. Took a tooth brush and scrubbed the whole rock outside the tank and rinsed it well with tank water.

My plan going forward is to siphon out, pull, scrub, extract as much as I can. They are not visually appealing and I still believe they are smothering coral.

Pulled my frag rack finally. Knew there was some underneath. Quick vinegar bath and a tooth brush cleaned it right up.

I think that pink sponge looks really cool. Next time you find a nice big chuck like that please let me know, I'd love a piece.

One person's pest is another's treasure.

I have this same sponge and it likes to grow in my sump with little to no lighting.
