Welcome Pete!!!!

Not to sure who is around your area, I'm sure someone will pop up. I'd be happy to swing by sometime and lend a hand. You're also more than welcome to stop by my place as well to see my tank.

oooo In fact, there is a north metro tank tour that would be a GREAT thing for you to participate in. There's about 10-15 people going place to place to view members tanks in the north metro area. I believe it is on the 30th. That way you can see multiple examples and see what works and what doesn't.

Another great way to get help is to start a thread with your tank upgrade details. Lighting specs, sump style, pumps and plumbing, skimmer options etc... There you can post questions and get answers from all of us on any of the aspects of your build.

Hey, Just bought my first home a few months ago and decided to step up from my fresh water childhood days. Zero reef experience... but lots of fluid dynamics! I could use a mentor when it comes to keeping my reef happy, and would be happy to apply my Chem/ChemE degree to build the ultimate rector or appropriate custom flow!

Welcome to the forum....
Where in "South" Minneapolis are you?

Michael

A few blocks south of Lake st and Nicollet ave.

I started a small company to commercialize a water treatment technology. I'm designing a 1,000 gal tank for testing it, which might turn into a fish tank afterwards (I doubt I could get my partners to swing for the live rock).

Working on getting a stimulus grant, if I can get it I'll be purchasing a $12,000 HPLC and will be able to get PPB analysis on every single chemical in our test water and my fish tank! :D.

Welcome Chad! I'll see if I can round someone up for you. If not I'll add you to our database so any future people in your area will still be able to connect with you. Until we find someone, please make use of the New to Hobby forum here, there's tons of people willing to help out in that capacity.
