Surprise, Another SPS Tank (1 Viewer)

Leak is VERY minor and new gaskets on the way so I’ll prob tackle that next weekend.

Unrelated lolz- what if I told you my tanks has been operating at 390ca and 6.5dkh for a couple months and doing great?

I know haha but there’s too much flow anywhere in the open!

I’d call it barebottom with a little sand. It’s like a 1/2” that’s blown around into patches. I had ambitions of of sucking it all out but the tank has been doing fine so I haven’t done anything (even siphoning!) with it.

Yeah I was just asking cause I’m going to do a bare bottom but I sure like the look of sand. I have my black HDPE board siliconed in now but am already thinking sand would look nice.

Oh dang you went with black? Yeah I feel like that will make the tank look dark idk. If my next tank is to have sand it will be REALLY open so I can effectively siphon it once things grow in. As of now I can’t without breaking colonies in half trying.
 
For no reason whatsoever I got a quote from Midwest Custom Aquariums for an acrylic eurobraced 60x24x20 tank 🤔

Oddly someone from my email address contacted him. 🤔

I’ve really outgrown this tank and know I should just do the smart things and chop down colonies and give coral away but nobody wants them unless I ship 😭

The tank in it’s current state is so low maintenance and I surely don’t have tim to build another stand etc. I’ll keep telling myself these things…
 
Not much to report here. Coral nearly hitting the glass on all sides. Need to purge but I love my pretties and don’t have time to cull the herd. This solar flare is going bananas.

Upgraded my frag/QT/whatever tank to keep myswlf occupied. Used my old 40 breeder with a Tenecor sump baffle to make a built in sump and tossed A Photon v2 16” on it. Wide shallow tanks seem to always do better so we’ll see.

Corals look great. What are you running for lights? Still T5s ?

Whatever the good performing panel light is at that point. Reefbreeders or AI Blades? I wouldn’t ever put a point source light over my tank as you need so many to combat shadowing.

Yeah I’ll have two for a 36” tank. I’ll be curious to see what you go with. Corals look great it’s always a good problem to have with too much growth
