Can anyone identify the tubish object at the base of the rock or even give me an idea of what to research? Every night it rises from the sand and sort of feels around. I thought it was a fighting conch at first but it never moves from that spot. It's definitely not a bristle worm.

I agree a peanut worm. They often look like they are extending by rolling from the inside out.

I'd have to say that it's a positive ID. Thanks again for the help. It appears that it is reef safe, does anyone know anything to the contrary?
