Upgrade: New tank by end of feb (1 Viewer)

It is in the list, I will be mounting at least 6 big CPU kind of fan. Two for each reflector. And 2 or 4 will be getting the cool air. So total 8 or 10 fan. I checked the pricing with computer shop, it's around $6 per fan new.
 
That is a lot of fans. Spend the extra money and get the quite fans. Definitely worth it. I got the el cheapo fans and when my 4 fans kick on in the summer, sounds like a helicopter winding up.

It's 1/2 HP chiller.

I ran the lights for almost 30 min and my temp went from 79 to 80 in 30 min. Dint try for long since it was time to shutdown the lights. I will be checking the lights may b tomorrow or whenever am home for at least 2 to 4 hours.

My max temp limit is 80 for the tank after that chiller will do the job. Also I will be running these lights for max 3 to 4 hours.t5" will run 10 hours with 6 stunners
 
you are utilizing the space for sure...I don't think u can add more if you wanted to lol If you plan on using the stunners with the MH I'm curious if you would see a difference. Typically the MH will cancel out the stunners, since it is a low wattage LED IMO. The single t5 80w atinic may make a slight different when on with the MH.

Stunners I usually do with t5 and mostly run them in the night time. I like the way they pop up the colors of the coral. The whole tank looks different.

Stunners will not do great with these MH. I have the same kind of opinion.

Looks like things are running smoothly for you so far. Definitely can't wait to see the end product. The lighting is going to glow.
 
:biggthumpup: to most all of your hardware choices.

Only one I did this :doh: to was your choice of the Ushio 14k over the 20k Radium bulb. Great choice on the ballst but it just screams to me 20K Radium bulb as they really work well together. Worst case you can always switch on your next bulb change.

David - most of my corals are use too of 14 k light and they do well. This is big and almost new task for me. Even right now I am just using one bulb over 220, yesterday when I turned all three together they were little shocked and my fishes too.
In the beginning i was under impression that 400 watts will be too bright but now seems like they are not. I am going to wait for the bulb change until I complete the whole setup. I still don't have my landscape completed and looks like not until April mid, By that time I have to complete T5 setup, landscaping, complete the chiller setup, auto top off, apex controller wheeeeee too many things.

Hope my approach is correct. Correct me if am wrong.

This is a big challenge on top of my job :)

Not really but whenever I am getting time, I am completing the setup. Less sleep more work.... :)

Hats off to those guys who maintain big aquariums at home.:beerchug:

I've never run the Ushio 14k, but I have the same ballasts and reflectors except I'm using 250w radiums and absolutely love it. I par tested the 250w on the 250+(hqi) setting and was getting 150-200 on the sand with my lights 15" from the water of a 24" tall 120.

The only thing I'd suggest is getting the glass shields for the reflectors... They're $15 each but are super easy to clean and will keep your reflectors looking like new.

Finally after few weeks, I get a chance to pick up the rocks from DA. Thanks Clint for curing them for me.
below are some picture updates. I have not glued any rocks. may be down the line, i'll get some good discount from Ray to use some of his Rays Reef glue and join the rocks. well So far everything is pretty stable and firm.
