well it was time for an upgrade!! (1 Viewer)

This tank is shaping up really nicely.
Love how its coming together
Thank you.

Awesome setup, just goes to show bigger isn't alway better!
I'm liking this tank alot more then the 90 I had. Only because its easier. Cant do the awesome fish I would love to have, But for a easy reef this rocks.

Added 4 blue leds to the center of the hood for moon lights, And now researching for more CUC. Thinking a cool shrimp. Maybe a cleaner or sexy. Had a little party and the family's house for the b-day and received a gift card to SWE. So its back for some more fun.

Time for some updates...........

And yes that is sps in there. Still closed up. Pics taken shortly after adding. Wish me luck.
So how many corals you think I could get in there? At least 10 more..

At least.

I would add some snails. I love snails. Especially the couple of red moons I got from DA last week. They are awesome, and have a beautiful red foot.

I see you found space in there... Hood luck with the spsand thanks for the coronas that's my favorite beer.:beerchug::beerchug:

Tank is doing awesome. I managed to make all the waste from the fish swirl up right in the middle of the tank. Makes clean up a breeze. All the sps seem to be happy. Coloring up and polyp extension. Not crazy yet, but them seem to to look better and better every day. Doing water changes on the 10, 20,30th day of the month and changing carbon pad on hob every month. Added a top to try and decrease water evaporation. Not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing. Gonna try for awhile and see how the tank reacts.

I love my controller. Came in the house from playing with kids today. lights off on tank. Looked at temp. 81. Might have to look into adding a fan to the lights.

On an sad note lost my shrimp and my crab? Not for sure why. Found a complete crab body. Not sure if they molt, And I cant find it either, but never really seen it before. So cant confirm that its gone. As for the shrimp. Seen a molt, a few days later seen a full body color and all. Assumed it was the shrimp. But got home later to remove it and cant find it. so ?

I have some minor green hair algae, and some red hair like algae. Im thinking of getting a small tang to help clean this stuff up. Would be temp till it out grew the tank. What do you think? currently doing daily top offs and weekly 30-40 water changes. live stock, nemo, goby and chromis. CUC, 5 snails ,1 hermit.

I'd DEFINITELY stay away from a Tang in that small tank.

Run some phosphate remover through there to help clean up the algae. Maybe add an emerald crab - they love algae.

Your cleanup crew could be double or even triple the size you have now, and adding some GFO if you haven't already will lower the phosphate which leads to algae growth in the first place.

i think he was jokeing about the tanglol

I am not so sure about that.

Reef Junkie, not a snowballs chance in.. a certain place... is it a good idea to put a tang in there. You say you'd move it when it grow out of the tank, but it IS grown out of that tank by default. Try a mexican turbo snail and get some Chemi-pure elite + Purigen and put it in the HOB filter. That should clean things up.
