So next year I'm finally moving off campus and getting an apartment! The good news is my roommates really like the idea of having an aquarium in the apartment. The bad news is they have a max tank size limit (one tank, 35 gallons or under).

My question is what's a guy to do?

I have a Biocube 14 currently setup with saltwater and an empty 30g (3 ft long) at home and am wondering what to do for next year.

Part of me really just wants to build my own custom acrylic tank, but given how fast money already flows into this hobby, I'm sort of just thinking of staying with my current setup. I guess I could always buy a 20L off someone on here too, they have a nice footprint for an apartment.

40 breeders will have about 35 gallons :beerchug: after you displace water with live rock.

Have a sump under it, no biggy.

I don't want to go to big because I plan on going to school for another 4-6 years after next year and want to be able to move easily ( I know you can move bigger thanks, but the bigger the more hassle in my experience).

A 30 long or 33 long or whatever they go by would be economical and different. They are 4'x1'x1' so a two bulb T5 would work great.

I love my 30gallon The 20L was nice but prefer the room I got with the 30. The 40B was to wide I didnt need the room front to back. more room for my fish to move and more room for coral. I also prefer the foot print of this tank over my biocube or 20L FWIW. good luck with the choice.

I really like the sound of a 4'x1'x1' tank, seems like your right, it would be 33 gallons. I've never actually seen one of these in person, do they get put up in the FS often or is this likely something I'll have to buy new?

With a 4x1x1 I could probably make a pretty good size in tank fuge too, maybe even dedicate a 1x1x1 space for it and have 3/4ths display then black out the last segment.

For a display that looks ghetto, for a frag tank= OK.

I have a new 33 long if you are interested. Was going to be a frag tank but I used something else.

33 long is a standard glass tank size. They don't come up used often. If psulion's doesn't work out, I think SWE stocks them.

They come up on minnfish.com fairly. If your looking for a smaller tank, thats where I would look!
