Thanks for the kind comments! I will have to give credit where credit is due....my wife tells me how to aquascape. I find it much easier to just leave my arm in the tank and have her tell me where to put the rocks. The pillar on the far right is drilled with rod, but the middle and left are free form.

Tracked down some pictures of the hood that I took. Hopefully for someone needing some ideas, it might be of help. It slide back on brass feet to allow me access to the tank. It can slide far enough back that I'm able to remove rocks and fish while accessing all parts of the tank. I wanted to keep the hood as slender as possible, and couldn't come up with an idea of having the hood flip up to allow access that kept it skinny......so I went with sliding.

The hood is currently 5 T-5 bulbs and one small nightlight that didn't work out quite like I had wanted.

Here is the channel I made that a piece of glass slides into. This allows the holes on the ends to properly channel air down the bulbs and out the top of the fixture.

If I were to do anything differently, I would use a different moonlight system. It currently only has one led and isn't expandable....the one led only covers about 1/2 the tank. One of these days, I need to track down a thin piece of acrylic, as the pane of glass adds alot of weight to the hood.

the rio "mini sun" moonlights are pretty punchy, don't cost a whole lot, and are easy to manipulate into where you want 'um.

Had an interesting update I thought I'd post. At the meeting, I picked up some KZ bulbs. I've since replaced one ATI Blue+ with a KZ Fiji Purple, and one ATI Aquablue with a KZ New Generation. I like the visual look of the New Generation better then the Aquablue. The Fiji Purple has floored me. It's a blue bulb that is also heavy on the red. It's popping my red/orange corals without making the tank visually looking purple or red. It's been about a month and I really like the change in some of my red/orange corals. I'll post some pictures later, but the corals are looking great. Even the green or purple sps seem to be getting more intense in color. The only coral that isn't looking as good seems to be my purple cap that I got from David G. It still looks good, but before it was the deepest purple I've seen.....almost fake looking.

Don't have any scientific data, and it would be hard to say that it's just the bulbs causing the change....but I thought I throw it out there for people to read.
