Zoolan's 210 with Custom Stand Build (1 Viewer)

Low and slow, baby....low and slow.

Sorry...channeling the movie Cars there for a minute. The flow is quite slow, and I probably need to increase it, to be honest. The suggested rate is just fast enough to stop junk from settling. I will say the cheato likes the flow rate, though...it has doubled in size in a few week.

Yeah, it's always a push and pull trying to grow chaeto and utilize the dsb together. Been there and it worked great just got nasty after a couple of years. A detritus trap upstream will help if you don't have something like that.

Hopefully some pictures this week.

I took some pictures of the tank and contents. Not everything is done, but here are some tank shots.

Why so uneven? the rockwork on the right outshines the one on the left; both sides balance out though

The right side is only about 6 inches higher than the left, but the light is more directly above the high point on the right. Also, the areas that are blown out bright are three light-colored corals, which is why they seem so bright.

Wow looks amazing!! I took the design of your stand and made mine similar to it as I was amazed and fell in love with it!!! :beerchug:

Well, I had my first disaster in the new tank last night. You will recall my lighting installation from a few pages back:

Well, I was working on the tank last night, and somehow both wire loops I had created snapped, and dropped my lights into the tank. After pulling them out and drying them, two of the three seem OK, but the third one fried.

Now I've bolted the hanging bracket through the top of the canopy, so it can't happen again. Too bad it took a $500 mistake for me to do it right...

So sorry to hear that--it sucks, but good to know they are at least partly waterproof. ;) I don't plan to test it myself, though....
