Marineland 150Gal DD starphyre front, for real this time...... (1 Viewer)

If you haven't decided yet I recommend Wenge...I use it a lot in my designs (Interior Designer) and it is so beautiful. Nice and dark all the way through, and just a natural oil rub twice a year for maintenance.

yeap! i got 2 rolls of wenge veneer should do the trick, i had a hard time with contrasting the fresh orange of the padauk, but the dark wenge does well.

yippy! all the wood work on the stand should be completed tomorrow!! i
ll get it finished on wednesday and thursday and should have it plumbed by next monday!

yeah. hopfully i can find my camera charger and take pics soon

here is a pic of where i am at with the stand

Looks awesome, I'll be following your thread. I love the dimensions of the DD tanks. Have you thought about aquascaping at all?

no =( me and the wife started house hunting and decided that it would be pretty dumb to set this up in this house. we are hoping to be in the new place by christmas.

well i have been staring at this tan for too long! we had to sign a new lease so we will be here longer ..blah...... so right after Xmas i will be making a trip to SWE and buying the skimmer, most likely a Royal Alpha Exclusiv 200 or 250. and having an appropriate sump built then i should be good to go!

i have a few questions for you aquascape junkies. should i use PVC raisers under the rock to help keep the sand diggers (I want a few large engineer goobies and a bluespot jawfish) from collapsing the rock or am i not thinking about this right? is there any negative sides to having the pvc under the sand?

I say put the rock in first, then add the sand....no collapsing!

Oh yeah...about fricken time you get off your butt and get this thing moving!!

I say get the RAE 300! Its a differece of $120+ and you get an extra red dragon pump worth $400+

really? i did not know that, i prolly will if that is the case.

sorry, $200 difference from the 250 to 300
$1199 compared to $1399

Do the 10% off

$1080 compared to $1260 = $180 true difference and free shipping. But you get an extra red dragon pump that's easily $400+ more to get one.

Matt, if you're interested in an alternative aquascaping method, check out using hydraulic cement. Here's my thread on nano-reef for one idea of what you can do: M1A1 29g LPS Reef

Thats sweet Marty, I was actually thinking of this for the 125G tank I got. Maybe I missed it, I'm planning on using pukani rocks for this, is that what you used?

uuumm... i'm having a real hard time finding where i posted that! if it was aimed at you i do not know what it was in reference too. i did get your response the other day on the stand. hhhmmmm
