I don't know if it was him or someone else who brought one of those beamworks leds to SWE for testing. I was there when Li was messin' aground with it. I was completely surprised how good of par readings that thing was putting out. Should certainly be adequate for most things. I'm not usually impressed with anything distributed by aquatraders but you couldn't make anything yourself cheaper for this situation. Even if it konks out in a year and have to keep replacing like you would a bulb, you still would have gotten your moneys worth.

Thanks everyone, and Thanks Dave! I am really really happy with the light. I was intending on borrowing a par meter to see how it's doing, though now I'm not at all worried that it will keep my corals happy. I can now confidently bring my corals home and put them in my own tank! I am not sure where I'm going to put them all though! :gay1:

My next thing with this tank is I want to putty the rocks together as they are now. They are just sitting there currently and I want to have more stability when I do decide to place my corals on the rock work.

I find the big tubes of glue and hardner from swe easier . Good luck. Luv what u have done

I certainly do, Luke! I've run into a case of briopsis though, I think it came in on the rock that I used to seed the tank. Oops!

So, I've lowered the photoperiod (which I'll admit was probably way to long as it was at at least 12 hours) and did a good water change and scrubbing recently. Any tips on how to tackle briopsis in such a small tank? Water changes are pretty easy for me as long as I have salt!

You could try tech-m to drive the mag way high. I've dealt with the stuff twice. For whatever reason, tech-m works better than your random mag supplement.

Thanks! I'll see if I can get my hands on some of that, because I'd like to move my corals into the tank sometime soon, but I'd rather get a hold on the briopsis before I add anything that will require additional light.
