why don't you want to kill them?

I used a syringe and vinegar to kill the few I had in my tank. they're easier to get rid of than Aiptasia

Well there's a lot, I mean like maybe 100! If someone knows how to get them of the rocks and want them before I use the kill methods please let me know. Please elaborate on the syringe and vinegar, can I do while in tank?

I would be interested in getting some of these from you, they will be perfect for the softy tank, otherwise i heard you can use a frozen spoon to get anenomes to detach from rocks, might work for these too

These guys have a potent sting and can kill other sessile animals. IMO, unless you want a species only tank, kill them, they're a pest.

^ thats goood to know, like an anemone sting?

With over a hundred in your system I would suggest a tear down - otherwise your in for a ton of work to eradicate them

Other option mentioned is to turn that tank into a species specific tank

I am in the process of dedicated a tank to them myslelf but that is just in my little 14g- in a month or 2 I will be putting up my 34g and moving them to there otherwise I would love to take them

I tried the wand and didn't have any luck... It split zoanthids pret quick though lol.

I had these same majanos, do you know where your outbreak started? Just curious, I got mine from some guy in Brooklyn Center I think, he was selling corals on craigslist and his tank was covered in them, I had no idea what there were when I first saw them, I'd never seen a majano so colorful before, almost worth having a small tank of them. I tried Kalkwasser on mine which worked but I had too many and it started raising my calcium too high and was upsetting to nearby corals, after I got the population down to a manageable level, I picked the remaining few out with a tweezers and gave them to Angie! I haven't seen one since the frag swap.

Yep! Got them from a guy in Brooklyn off craigslist as well. He said they were coral, I gave another member here some as well thinking it was coral so (Richard Nixon) throw it away! Sorry buddy. Jay over at DA told me it was manjano....here all along I thought it was coral. :swear::swear::swear:

Ha, sorry man, yeah he tried to tell me it was coral too and he tried to tell me corals don't sting each other, his exact words were, "all corals live in peace together." I tried to hold back the laughter, seriously though I bought some zoas from him even though he was trying to sell me majanos, but I wasn't buying, I did not however see the one on the zoas until after it was in my tank and I too went to Jay and he broke the news to me as well, this was after a week of having one in my tank I had around a dozen, we all know coral doesn't grow like that or we'd all be rich!

yes you can do it in the tank, just poke and inject right in their mouth. I just gave it a little bit in each. Sorry I do not have an exact amount in CC's to tell you it was pretty much a short injection.

I thought they were cool too but I had a pretty good idea what they were and when they started to multiply I knew it was time to get rid of them.
