how does the spray bar come out?

I copied "Turbo's" design. I tapped the acrylic and thread the plumbing into the ATS. This allows me to put two gaskets on the spray bar to seal it up. I simply loosen up the "dead" end of the spray bar and it lifts right out. It is AMAZING!

Very nice looking, I gotta learn more with acrylic and attempt this someday

Update on my ATS:
7 days since I got it online.
Lights on for 14 hours at 40% intensity.

I love the spray bar!! Works amazing!

I had to clean the top of the screen because it was getting clogged up. I will have to devise a way to block the light there. I probably need to widen the slot too.

I normally just scrap the screen but I scrub the top 1" and brush the slot. This works fine for me and not trying to block the light.

I got some time to work on the canopy for the stand. I managed to get it all cut and the frames assembled. I also got it sanded.

What do you think so far?

I need to cut the panels, stain and varnish everything. Then assemble the pieces into an actual canopy.

With luck I will complete it by the tanks two year anniversary!!

How far into the spray bar does your screen go? Mine is probably 1/2" into the spray bar.

All the way in. For me, if I don't then water will shoot out in some places more especially when getting thick if it is not all the way in across the whole thing. This may account for why my slot is wider as well.

Your moving along faster than I did, I'm still looking at a dry tank. Your doing it the right way with face-frames. If you need any wood working things....let me know.

Here is a picture "inside" the ATS, it is the best I can do because I don't have a lot of room to access it (issue will be solved later).

The camera doesn't like the red leds (my eyes don't either). But to me it looks like there is a bunch more algae from Sunday. Not easy to tell on the picture.

LEDs are still at 40% intensity for 14 hours.

I hate to be slow, but I still dont get how this works?

Ok, I am never on a PC so I don't have a means to modify the pictures so we will just try this with words again...

So in this picture the threaded cap get loosened when you want to take the spray bar out, and tightened when you want to put it in.

The next picture is looking top down of the spray bar. The spray bar is made from a piece of PVC pipe, a PVC coupler cut in half, and two O-rings. One half of the coupler goes on each end of the spray bar. This allows the 90" and the Cap to thread into the coupler ends of the spray bar. Now as you know this would leak really bad. So what you don't see is the O-rings that are inside the couplers. This seals the spray bar to the 90 and the cap.

So when you loosen the cap you can simply lift the spray bar out without touching the incoming plumbing. And the Cap is really easy to turn. When it is all assembled it is strong you can lift the entire unit (with led fixtures) up by the spray bar.

So I do not have to touch the plumbing in this picture below, when I take out the spray bar. Normally you have to disconnect a union or something.

Hopefully this explanation helps...

Looking good.

I like the recycled "bench top". When I work on projects at home I pull out a pair of sawhorses and have a recycled island countertop for my bench; works great!

Was confused as well - makes sense after that - thanks

Are you noticing any better build up at this point?

I have a vested interest here sir ; )

if it wasn't for the black acrylic, your living room would resemble that of Kramer's when the chicken roaster opened up across the street!
