3 Foot Nano Tank (1 Viewer)

Final mounting

The previous check valve and true union got in the way. Check valve is now flipped and ball valve was rotated 90 degrees. 1Link, intake, and waste lines are secured with wire routing clips to prevent pinching or tugging with the door opening and closing. I will also probably add some small vertical supports to keep it from sliding. Or I will drill 4 holes through the shelf and screw up bolts from the bottom into the rubber feet holes.

When the door closes, the shelf just barely clears the top of the top off box and comes within mm of the vertical plumbing.

Come on! We can fit more gear in there!!!

It's like a modern day transformer... or that space saving furniture used in tiny houses! (o:

Some before and after Trident of the Nauti Spiral - It truly is my canary in the coal mine. If its feeling sick it looks a drab brown orange. If its healthy and thriving it turns a golden color with a pink rim.

I picked up a nice Hawkins coral from Carl. This has been one of my all time favorite corals along with the Oregon Tort. Now with achieving good tank stability I truly think I can keep both of these vibrant blue and have them grow.

And just a nice new shot of the Midas Blenny.

Wow everything looks great! That Nautispiral really shines when it’s happy!

Looks great

Thanks guys!

What media/chemicals are you dosing with the trident?

The Trident just tests the water. So instead of you manually testing your Alk with a Hanna checker, or getting out your Salifert / Red Sea / Elos test kits for Ca and Mg it does it all automatically every few hours. This then plots a graph so you can see the trend in parameters over time. The smoother I can get the line the better. Then on top of this you can add the ability to have your DOS add additional if it drops too low or stop if its trending too high.

My chemicals / additives that are not Trident related are biopellets and some NoPox for Nitrate and Phosphate control. AcroPower and Reef Roids for coral foods.

What was that large dip in elements from? Testing errors or was your doser offline?

They frequently have us mess with things and this causes outliers on the graphs. Sometimes its tank related but during the NSI period its usually from updating the Trident or the Apex Operating System. This changes the testing calculation or algorithm and this causes a shift. I dont remember what the dip in Mg was from the beginning of the week but the swapped Ca/Mg at the end of the graph was due to a Trident update that changed the way those 2 parameters are calculated. I was just showing how I was trying to flatten out the graph for times nothing was being changed software related.

Here is an early graph from Feb only running the Trident for 2 weeks or so.

Small tanks have parameters going all over the place. Its hard to see these shifts if you only test once a week, and even if you did it one or two times a week there cam be is a huge variation between noon and 10pm in the same day.
