Ecotech nock off (1 Viewer)

They’ve been out and people like them. You’re at the mercy of a chinese app is the only downside I can see.

They’ve been on Aliexpress direct from Jebao for a while.

The only thing I have heard neg so far is has a tendency to fall of down to mag strength and switch back and forth

A British YouTuber I watch (Reef Dork) speaks highly of them. If you can get over the likely patent infringement and crappy Chinese app, as Ben mentioned. Or at least it seems like they were a tad early (I think 2026 was the patent expiration per some posts I read).

Checkout the reef dork review though.

If you havent seen how ecotech pumps are starting to fail faster and faster, I'm sure the jebao is as good. Or better.
Look at how the Nero pumps came out and had cracking plastic, exposing metal, and if that wasnt enough, the intake holes were big enough to suck in a vlamingii tang. Lol
The jebao copycat (slw/mlw series) came out shortly after and had none of those problems.

Really, is that on the newer ones?
My newer ones are only 3 years old now so we will see. But my 14 year old MP40 is still working slick.
Watch me jinx myself now 🤣

Yeah man I have 4 and every one the dry side has gone noisy and needed new bearings or replacement. Never an issue with a driver or psu tho.

New Dryside costs almost double what 1 of these pumps costs.

Yeah. The old ones lasted too long. Lol
The only wavmakers more expensive than jebao that I'll buy are Tunze. They cost 4x as much, but last 4x as long. Honestly, it's pretty much the same value, but the new eco tunze wave makers are insanely efficient. Energy savings from 4 40w gyres to 4 6105 tunze ecos is 185watts. 24hrs a day, 365 days a year. A savings of about $350/yr. These wavemakers literally pay for themselves before the warranty expires! Thats the reason I opted to cry once, vs. Keep replacing cheap jebaos.

Tunze are well built products. I really like the clean look of the Ecotechs… but I am really liking the concept of the Orcas …will need to get my Clear Lids modified to fit those

Are people reporting noise comparison for the knock off … I know Ecotech took some revisions to the quiet drive which included firmware updates. I wonder if the wet sides are compatible. I hope the prices come down now that the patent is almost up

Out of curiosity do you use vinegar to clean the wet sides
