120g Acrylic Acropora Addiction (1 Viewer)

So brutal man. What a hero you are for taking the time to save your hawkfish.

I tried a couple times to actually get it to put a flame hawkfish in the picture...then I got tired of it getting it wrong. You get the point :)

Holy holy … at least all your stuff comes out like that. I’m guessing you got it out

I remember watching a Jake Adams video where he was talking about catching fish in a clear plastic container. Because they can't see it in the water. With a helper to kind of help guide them he caught 5 or 6 yellow tangs in one go. It was awesome/hilarious to see. I wish I had a link to the video.

Ok all cleaned up.

Not much else in updates. I’ve chopped back corals a few times.

Red Sea had a second price increase in a year, so bought a few buckets of Reef Crystals to give a try, but now I’m a bit gunshy. Mixed up a bucket really well before making a test batch, and it still came in even higher than expected.

Ca: 500

I’m doing about 15g AWC a week. I asked Randy Holmes Farley and he said it would have a negligible impact on pH and levels, only equivalent to 5ml/day of my 2 part (currently dosing 85ml of each). So I may let her rip, otherwise I’ll give Nyos another crack.

You sir are an artisan 🧑‍🎨
Love the baby groot slimer. 😁

Crazy how much different corals prefer different conditions. Nitrate was trending down (probably due to skimmer cleaning) and bottomed out.

I noticed something was off as the heartbreaker was looking less vibrant and turning more green between polyps.

Put Ammonium Bicarbonate dosing back online and within a week it woke right up and looking vibrant as ever.

What a heart breaker, water clarity is impeccable
Are you running UV or Ozone ?

Writing this down for later reference (or torment).

Switched to Nyos salt. @Varig pointed out to me that Nyos has Iron. Iron feeds algae. My persistent bubble algae problem is pretty well controlled as of late. Let’s see in 6 months if it goes nuts 😬

Iron will be fine, bubblies love higher nitrates.
I have been experimenting with the refugium, Isol8 MT and Nitrates/Phosphates
It loves above 15ppm ( for me )

Can concur. And it REALLY loves ammonia. Aptasia too. Something the "Gurus" never mention when they talk about dosing ammonium bicarbonate.
The isol8 MT is pretty good, but it can be a bit high on iodine. With a turf scrubber, I end up low in manganese, iron, and a couple others. It doesnt include "major" elements like boron, fluorine, potassium or strontium, otherwise is a good and affordable solution for most of your trace elements.

Awesome, I am currently dosing ammonia to keep nitrate above zero

Agreed, I dose of MT a drop every few days lol
Captivate Aquaculture products and pretty solid and potent
