The build has started. Guessing it will be ready for corals in 6-8 weeks.

Tank details:
Custom built 48" x 30" x 22" starphire front with external overflow (almost coast-to-coast), will be front side viewable with front access


Equipment so far:
(3) MP 40s
Lighting - Tek 8 bulb T5, supplemented with LED's
Skimmer - need to purchase
Sump - 40 breeder
Tunze ATO
Bubble Magus doser
Apex controller (adding camera in front and on sump for remote monitoring)

This thread will be picture heavy!! Will update. Have had the tank for about 5 months and winter is on its way, so its time to get moving on this build.

Painted the inside of closet, will be painting stand also.

Front view of hole - cut larger hole so I will have front access on top, will use trim around tank for clean look.

Start of stand...glued and screwed (The stand will eventually have 2 pieces of plywood and foam before putting the tank on.)

Just a thought but why not allow it to be viewable from the front and right side since its on a corner?
 
WOW! It's been almost a year since you told me about this! Can't wait to see the finished product. I will deffinetly be following this one! Congrats!:biggthumpup:

Wow, already a month since the last update. I am slow at this.

The stand is done.

Cooked the rock tonight.

Mag 12 and sand purchased today.
Picking up SWC 230 Cone Skimmer at swap.

Pretty much just need the tank on the stand, plumb, baffle the sump, drill rock(maybe), paint trim.

Will be wet within 2 weeks and guessing I will be ready for corals in by the end of the year at the latest, that should give it 4 weeks to cycle :greenguy:
