Volunteer to host a meeting!
Now both Full Members AND Supporters can host a meeting!

The forum is a good place to stay informed, share ideas, ask questions and get answers from fellow Reefers but nothing can compare to meeting others in the hobby in person.
Meetings allow users to discuss various topics and get to know each other better.
A meeting is a great place for beginners and experts in the hobby to get together and share the reefing experience, TCMAS appreciates you hosting a meeting in your home and sharing with your fellow reefers.

Earn lifetime membership!
Hosting a meeting gives you lifetime membership (full access to all member forums), allows you to vote in absentee at business meetings and increases your PM limit to 800 posts.!

Meeting Giveaways
This year the giveaways will be:​

1. One attendee per meeting will win a $50 Gift Card to a sponsor of their choice. Each person can only win once per calendar year unless all attendees at a meeting have each won before.
2. All hosts for the 2026 year will be placed into a drawing at the end of the year to win a $200 Gift Card to a sponsor of their choice.

The Meeting Host can also be reimbursed up to $50.00 for food and non-alcoholic beverages.

FAQs for hosting a meeting:

Note - You need to schedule/post your meeting date at least 30 days before the actual event - if you are not able to do so, your meeting will be cancelled and the slot opened up for other members

Do I need to be a current full member and/or supporter in order to host a meeting? = YES

Do I need to have a saltwater tank up and running in order to host? = NO

Do I need to provide food/refreshments? - NO

Do I need provide my address and/or phone number publicly to the members? = NO

Can I put a cap on attendee's = YES (but that cap cannot be lower than 15).

Can I host any day of the week? = YES

Can I host from any start time to any end time? = YES, but your meeting duration cannot be less than 3 hours

Can I make it a Potluck meeting? = YES

@Reefer Oz can you add the Spring Expo to the club calendar? Been asked a couple times and I can’t recall the date after the change.

Anybody else for hosting a winter meeting? Tis the height of reefing season and people need an excuse to leave the house, HA! Perhaps a topical poem to entice you...........

We want to see your reef.
All us fish nerds and reef geeks.
And our hosts in the past
admit hosting's a blast.

To socialize and meet,
and talk fish while we eat.
Seems the only drawback
is excess CO2 gas!

So wipe off some salt creep,
rip out algae.
Scrape the glass and
let us amass!!!

*sorry if this is the wrong place to post. Just discovered the group. Super cool there’s a community supporting the hobby. Does anyone host Sunday meetings? I’d love to get more involved!

Meetings can be hosted any day of the week, totally up to you. I don't think we've had a Sunday meeting in awhile, but no reason there can't be. As you saw above, there are only a few very loose restrictions on the meetings (~3 hrs long, around the room introductions about 1 hr in, etc.). But beyond that, very low key. It's just a great opportunity to get together with some fellow reef nerds and talk about tanks. If you'd like to host a meeting, just shoot @Reefer Oz (Josh) a PM with a proposed date that's at least 30 days from now and we'll get you on the calendar.
