3 Foot Nano Tank (1 Viewer)

12 White, 12 Blue 3w each. I've covered 9 of the white ones so that there are 3 left evenly spaced on the front of the fixture. Even with so many covered it still seems to give plenty of light. It doesn't look that overly blue (May FTS for example) A lot of the covered lights must still bounce back up into the fixture and just make it more diffused.

Just keeping everyone in the loop on whats been going on.

Since the May FTS I've moved the Hawkins to the middle of my tank to give it the location it deserved. I loved the color and growth pattern before I even started this tank so hopefully it does well there. The leptoseris frags are very slowly encrusting onto the rocks. The frag plugs that they came on had tiny pieces of tissue so I left them behind my rocks and they have grown quite a bit. In a few months they should be sellable.

From Wed-Fri I wasn't at work and had a co-worker look after my tank. He's one of my friends and he is a nice guy but he forgets to add water to my tank any time I'm not there. I went into work today just to check up on things as well as do my 6 month sump/equipment maintenance only to find out the water was very low and getting close to the return pump. A few more days and it could have been pretty bad.

So, ATO and BRS doser are hopefully in my future soon for keeping my water level steady, even when I'm not there, as well as Alk stable.

Nothing beats stable Alk. :) Still love this tank. I'm setting up an SPS office tank this week, and I think I'm going to get a Mr. Aqua.

Thanks! The screen lid I made with a standard window screen kit. Nothing fancy, picked up all the pieces at Home Depot.

and also what kind of rock did u use

Dry Pukani from BRS

where did you get the suspension kit from?

Kit was from BRS as well. My fixture did not have screw holes so I had to buy a tapping bit to create them.

I second that with the new flameback in there.

Was that the flameback you guys had back around july 5th? If so I would have taken it home with me if a certain someone didn't already have it on hold... Beautiful fish and at a really good price:)

how bout a new fts of one of my fav tanks

Thanks again Jason!! I've been drip acclimating him for 2.5 hours now since the bag's salinity was super low. I also sectioned the tank in half with egg crate to get the other fish used to him without chasing him around for a few days.

New guy straight from the shipping bag. The hold was for me on the 5th. I had the day off and was bouncing around the metro looking for a tiny angel. LowersMyBP spotted him and put him on told until I could make it all the way across town. Unfortunately he didn't make it. I even went in to work over the weekend to feed and check up on him. On Monday he was dead :( So I'm taking a lot more precautions with the slower acclimation and separating the fish to rule out those issues completely.

I have my camera with me but I probably wont post a picture or video until Thursday or Friday when I remove the egg crate.

Until then here is a quick iphone shot.

Ok so within a few minutes, even with the eggcrate doubled up, the angel and the pseudo can swim right through. Any other ideas? I have the acclimation container pictured above but it doesnt have any holes in it to allow water flow and oxygen.
