Cheezy's Eurobraced 210g SC aquariums (1 Viewer)

Lights have been ordered. I went with 3 Orphek V3 atlantiks. I was doing some reflecting on my xr30s, and I can't say I've ever really been happy with them.

In other news, I have to take one of my baffles back to Besser glass, because they cut it too long. Am I the only one that has a huge amount of problems during an aquarium build? I feel like I am building on some sort of ancient indian burial grounds...:micro::micro::micro::popworm::popworm::popworm:

Hey! Don't jinx it!

How did your "rock bath" turn out?

That went quite well, actually! I recharged the bleach today and will rinse and dry tomorrow. I should be ready for acid by the weekend. :)

New toys have arrived!!! Orphek V3.0 and some extra goodies they threw in. I may need some help trying to figure out how hang them.:confused::tongue:

It is time to get going on this build. Looking for some folks to help hang my light followed by a delightful tank moving extravaganza. I have an idea for hanging the lights am looking for help with the execution. (Stupid plaster ceiling) I will probably need at least 3 people to help get the tank down the stairs. Anyone know where to borrow/rent the suction cups?

I am looking at doing this on Saturday 12/5.
Please pm if you would be available.
Thanks!

If your looking for glass suction cups I would suggest glass installers. I also wanted to tell you that I am planning on using Custom Aquariums based out of Neenah,WI. A 300g Reef Ready tank, drilled and with starphire on sides and front, and mystic black painted rear panel for 2500

Did you see their black Friday sale?

I did. If I needed any more lights, I would definitely hit that up.
Hmmmm....
Mind messaging me what you paid and what I should expect if I ordered? Also, did they suggest 2 or 3 lights for your tank? Looks like they talk about a 3 foot spread. That said, I'd probably do 3 if I upgraded...

Progress!

Tank is in place and the lights are up. I will be building a grid system for the lights at some point, but this will do for now. There is so much other stuff to do to before it gets wet.

That's a lot of light, glad to see you put all 3 up, although it may end up being too much spillout at the ends.

Looks good. I think it is time for the leak-test. That picture is misleading though, it looked/felt a lot a lot bigger/heavier when we were carrying it down the stairs.

Do the lights need to be that high to get full front-back coverage? If not, you could lower the lights and get less light spillage on the ends.

Agree. You really don't get an idea of perspective when looking at the picture!

I think it can go down quite a bit. Those lenses give great spread.

All this complaining - that tank weighed nothin as far as I am concerned! : )

Are you sticking with all 3 fixtures then?

Also - take a pic with you or your wife next to that beast - perspective will get understood quick!

Nice to see the inside of it finally - couldnt see jack while there with all the condensation - even while jumping up and down lol

For those not there, Angie showed up 30 seconds after the tank was on the stand

In her defense, she took on the most treacherous job...scraping the underside of the tank while we tipped it. There was condensation on the glass, so it was very slippery. You couldn't have paid me to do that one.

I will start with the 3. If I get annoyed with the light spilling, I may just go with the 2. Toss the other on my frag tank.

Made some progress on the wiring yesterday. I have to attach another board on the bottom of the panel as I want to attach the power supplies as well. I am liking the cord raceways. My mild cord OCD is being soothed.

My plumbing hit a bump in the road as BRS sent me the slip adapters for the L1 rather than the M1. Of course they are out of stock. Not a big deal, but annoying.

This has got to be the longest leak check on record.... Well? ;)
