I thought the firefish were somewhat like damsels, that they would eventually pick off the weakest one. Maybe not in this large of a system, but I was considering a trio and a few folks stated that it may not be the best idea.

Well, when I bought my firefish it had been beaten up pretty bad by a pair that it was in the same tank with, if that's any indication...

yes there are agressive to there own species.... that is common knowledge, however they are not a "roaming fish" with multiple islands and lots of caves i am attempting to keep multiples... do i recomend this for the avg tank.... no

i have 20 wrasses on my list, i just havent decided which one lol...

there will be a canopy around the tank as well as a cover on the overflow... i may even do a mesh top i do not want to risk the chance something decides to jump

5 Heniochus Black & White Butterflyfish

My all-time favorite fish. I had one for 8 days once....died - between me and the LFS I got it from, we think cyanide poisoning.

There's two species that look almost the same, make sure you get the one that's more reef safe. I forget now which is which, but the species name of one starts with an "A" and the other with a "D". I think the "D" one is the safer one....but you probably already know all of this!

;) yes but it was a very informative post for thoes who didnt

Do you even have a rough off-the-cuff total cost estimate? Or is it too painful to even ask?

I don't really need a figure, I was just wondering for your own sake which method of planning you are using. Plan list of cost from the beginning, or just buy as you go knowing it's going to hurt. To me, you seem more like a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants purchaser, but then again you surprised me with that poetry bit the other day.

Clint!

You're crazy, man :bow::bow:. You're not building a reef tank, what you're trying to build is an "underwater world". I can't wait to see everything come together:beerchug:

lol- if i like something i buy it.. i dont ask questions, i dont cringe, and i dont ever get buyer remorse... with a little reaserch people can easily figure out what i have dumped into this, and it isnt even wet yet... hell the display isnt even here.. i will however say this.... i did plan on going used in some areas and i didnt... skimmer, nps tank, tunze wave boxes.... so i will say i will be over what i had expected to spend.... but i am trimming costs as well, wood stand..... and ummmm i think thats it lol.....

--------- where i will end up at

---------- what i planned on spending

as far as the poetry goes.... im just so punk rock man.... ya never know what i will say or do next.... its the only way to live

I know you have told me this clint, but what kind of wood are you using on the stand?
