Curious to school of thoughts and personal views to rinsing frozen foods before use..
Also varied diet for mix reef/fish/ other inhabitants.
Thanks for your thought..

When nutrients were a problem I would soak my frozen food in tank water and then pour through a brine shrimp net in the sink before feeding. It helped for sure.

People usually hear I dump a lot more stuff into my tank (e.g. I blend stuff like table shrimp into liquid to feed my corals), so I normally don't rinse my frozen foods. I find my corals, especially the softies, happier and bigger. Of course, I also throw in the disclaimer that this does not work for every tank. If you dump stuff in, then you have to prepare to export the extra waste out or you'd risk dirtying up the tank and grow a lot of algae. That's my opinion. Compare between my 90 gallon tank and the new system I have, the corals in the new system grow fine in number mostly, but they just don't seem to be as healthy as the ones in my 90 gallon tank. I assume that is because I don't think the new system can handle that much waste, so I don't dump much things into the new system in comparison to how much I dump into the 90 gallon tank.

Ic.. I have a fairly decent export ID say but, I'm always on the hi end.
Possibly it's over feeding I guess.
Algae isn't an issue so far, nock on wood.. but mid 20s to almost 30..
Mind you my chattoe has retired nicely with vengeance...
2ndly I quite curious about others in the club.. I've only been in this a short time in comparison to others. And yes this topic has been milled around for years.. but new blood as my self see interest in the topic... so thanks for your input.
