I run a wet/dry on my QT tank. I like heavy biological filtration to nuke and possible ammonia due too influxes of fish (heaving in/out stocking at times). I happen to have the wet/dry so why not use it is also my thinking. I think Taku has a cheap wet/dry for sale now. Don't worry about Nitrite, doesn't affect salt water fish.
Chemical filtration only as needed. Use Instant Ocean and often it's cheaper to change out all the water than use carbon!I've been using the mid grade carbon from BRS when needed in QT environments, seems to work fine. $16 bucks for a gallon or so of it.
He means Nitrate![]()
