I've been meaning to drive over to New Wave to get a diamond back goby for quite a while. Saturday I finally got around to it. Got the fish into the tank and as usual with a new fish it immediately hid in the rocks. We went out for dinner and when I returned I found a very baked goby on top of the tank's screen cover. It had managed to jump through the small opening near the auto feeder and tried to get a sun tan.

So sad, sorry to hear that Ben. These stupid fish sometimes do their darndest to not live...

Sorry to hear that!
I got a Diamond goby this Saturday as well. Jen mentioned the pair that she had were eating pellets… you likely got the other one..Interestingly mine tried snoop at the top too but the lid has kept him in. He now has created his lair.

On my 40-gallon I bought a new screen to have a tight fit. The previous one was a little loose fitting and had lost a couple of fish diving around it. While doing my first water change a couple weeks back my mystery wrasse made the valiant jump to freedom while the lid was on the floor. At least I saw it happen so it made it back into the tank. Hid for about an hour before I saw it again. Had to keep checking to make sure it didn't try again without me paying attention.
