I did a thing…. IM SR-120 incoming (1 Viewer)

Have/did you test your fresh saltwater that you used for the water change?
It appears the mix levels may be elevated.
I will on the next batch. But I would think that should have shown on the test from the 21st which was about a day after the water change…. I would think i should have seen the increase on that round of tests… right? Or would it take more than a day?

Yes, sorry mixed the dates up. You’re right, it should have been higher on the 21st.
What salt are you using?

Well I guess I know where my issue is! Off to buy a different bucket of salt I guess. Right now my Goni and zoas are the only reason I knew something was off. I’ll pump this down the drain I guess and start making some new water

I don’t use Red Sea coral pro, so maybe I’m just missing it. But are those results way off from what you’d expect the bucket to mix up to? Or just not what you want to run your reef at? Or? I was under the impression that Red Sea Coral pro mixes up pretty high on the common elements. Especially at 1.026 salinity. Help the dumb kid understand please :)

It is an elevated salt but I think with doing such a large water change so quick I changed the water chemistry to quickly. But those numbers are still much higher than the bucket says they should be. Except the dkh is in line with what the bucket says

Well spent the day doing multiple water changes totaling about 60%. I’ll test the tank tomorrow and see where the levels are at.

But I did manage to fully deplete both di canisters 😂

ran the tests tonight. Mag is still a little high and my Ph bottomed out even with the windows open today. I’m going to do one more 16ish gallon water change mid week then I’ll let things settle out for a couple weeks.

Not sure how my crab got up to the powerhead . He was hanging on my Duncan for the last couple of days.

Got out of the shower to hear the alarm going off on my tank. The monitor says the PH dropped to 7.2…. Did a quick test with the api kit and it’s somewhere between 8.0 and 8.2 which I feel is right with all the fresh air I let in today. I did recalibrate my ph probe a week ago incase but I think at the 8 month mark the probe is failing. Looks like I’ll be ordering a new one

Last big water change was done yesterday. Results are good. Phosphate went up a bit but still not to high. Now to let it do its thing for a week and see where the numbers go.

I think Hanna has me sorted out with my monitor. If not they said they will send me a new probe. So that’s cool.

Well things got added to the big tank earlier than planned. I got home last night to find my little frag tank not working along with other electrical equipment in my house. My renter said the power seemed like it was shorting for a good 5 minutes. Thank fully the big tank is fine. I’m guessing the hit the power line as they’re boring through everyone’s front yard. The two shrimp have been buddies sense the fire shrimp went in last night. A closer look at one frog spawn looks like it has a bunch of tiny heads starting.

Now to plan out where to stick them all.
