Whens the meeting? :beerchug:

Looking good!

Did you just plumb it to the original sump or did you move some of your fish room around?

After its done sometime I'm sure.

Fish room is in same place just redid all plumbing to and from sump area to new tank.

Seems you are off to a good start. Looking forward to the follow your progress.

PS. If you want to post the pics in your thread also just look above your picture in Flickr. There is a tab called "share". Just copy the link from it and click the "insert image" icon (at the bottom line the 3rd from the right) in the editor here and paste your link. Now the image will appear in your thread also

I'm trying that, just not taking.

above the picture you'll see a button that says "share", click on that and copy the link and paste it into the "insert image" box. The "insert image" button looks like a mountain with a yellow backgroung and a smaller grey square in the upper right and will pop up a box to paste the link. You can see that button when you post an advanced reply, start a thread, and I believe also when you edit a post.

Time for update

Thought I would share since it has been awhile. Sad thing not much change, but still going well:dance:

Have some plans for the winter we'll see if that happens.

Tank looks great I will follow along! Stocking plans if I may ask?

No immediate plans for adding more fish (have 16) or corals but looking into building a ATS

Interesting, how much does a system like that lose in water a day?

Depends on the time of year and home humidity but around 2 gals per day. ATO (Auto top off) is done by dosing pump
run by the controller from about a 4 day supply container

But my plan is to build a Auto Turf Scrubber ATS. Still just in the drawing stage. Thanks for the interest

Thanks for the tank and seeing your set up. The photos on the 12/4/14 posting are current but not very many. I'll have to clean up
my "Fish room" (cough cough fish crawl space) and take some photos.

So just a quick Recap/update
So when I started my first tank in 2008 I went big 120g tank(not reef ready) and from Pet smart. Not knowing much or that TCMAS existed I had learned just enough to do some damage and trudged forward. So I know I wanted a sump/ refugium but the crappy stand that came with the tank was more of a junk collector then any thing useful. So I decided to use an area in our crawl space to forge a fish room. I had build my own sump from acrylic never having done THAT before. Being a plumber I installed waste and waters for a sink. Which is a must have and started spending money-- a never get away from must do . Most of what I started with I still have running my system.
In 2011 a incident and with the kids getting older and running around gave me the opportunity (with wifes permission) to upgrade to a 180g tank (reef ready woo hoo). I also took money and up graded to LEDS (3 Radions Gen 1) and moved the tank up against the wall being the 120 was used as a room divider (BAD IDEA with the crappy stand).

Some Current equipment
Dolphin Amp master pump running 24/7 for almost 12 yrs and never a lick of issues. Best investment
Digital Aquatics Reefkeeper Elite running everything (Except the Dolphin pump) for 8+yrs with no issues
3 Radion Gen 1 sometime after 180g got started

I decided last fall to move my fish room and got a good start on it and was hoping to have it done by now but I had a bad fall at work 1/6/20. I had passed out while up 14ft on a extension ladder and fell to the concrete floor landing on what THEY say was my head with not a injury of any sort any where else on my body. This had put me out for a good 1 1/2 months and still recovering. But I wanted to share in the move. It will still be slow but on its way.

Some changes being made

Going to Change controls over to Neptune Apex
Having a new sump build By Midwest
A bigger sink.
New dolphin pump since I jinxed it with the above statement:p

Existing fish room

I see what you are doing... trying to distract from CRAZY news with an awesome tank update!

So you're not dead... that's good.

I think you have one of the best fish rooms in general with it in the 'crawl space'. Where everything is the perfect height if you are sitting.

I wouldn't have known at Andrews meeting that you just took a fall from a ladder onto concrete. Glad you are ok.

I'll have to clean up
my "Fish room" (cough cough fish crawl space) and take some photos.

5 years later.... LOL

The old fish room looked great but the new one looks amazing!
Get this finished up and host this summer.

Last update was 2014. Quite a catch-up post!

Glad to hear that you’re OK. What a scary incident!

Is the new fish room still in the crawl space? It looks like maybe it is. I enjoyed seeing the old one in person and agree that you should host once the new one is “live”.
