Thanks, yeah, it went over pretty well over there. It's hard to be 100% certain because they share so many morphological similarities, but I believe it to be an Acanthastrea rotundaflora color form that has not been distributed in the hobby before. Rotundos look so chalice-like that it can be hard to tell, but there are some differences that pop out to me after staring at it for excessive amounts of time. Regardless of what it's taxonomical name is, it's a gorgeous coral.

Do you spot feed your Acans to get them to grow? I have several frags from members and they do grow, but very slowly. I do not spot feed but feed my fish 4 or 5 times a day and the coral get a lot of excess food and fish waste.

Yeah, it is probably getting close to a year now since I got that polyp from you, Brett. Still very happy with the growth though.
I do target feed most of my lps. Usually about once a week I shut off the pumps 30 minutes after lights out and then go through with a pipette and feed each coral. The Acan lords seem to grow at a slow to moderate rate no matter whether fed or not. The only ones that grow at a somewhat faster rate are the echinatas, hillaes, and to some degree the rotundaflora.
