LOL, thanks for the advice, i actually purchased a marineland stand for it.
 
uuggg! looks like the bacterial bloom exists. gonna let it sit for another few days, its been about a week now.
 
I have this same tank on the way! Looks great. Marineland's factory recently broke down so the 1-2 weeks has turned into 2 months... Anyone know anything about the stand that marineland makes for this tank? Trying to build a sump, but I'm not sure how much room I have...
 
very little. i'll measure but its actually disgusting how little room you have.
 
things are getting worse, its so milky i cannot see in the tank at all.

I went to SWE and got a hanna phosphate and ALK checkers, and a sailifert nitrate tester in case mine were just too old.

tests were
Phosphate .6 PPM
Nitrate 0.0 PPM
ALk 8.4 dKh.

i dosed probido per SWE suggestions. this has been going on for over a week and is getting worse not better. its cloudy white. no green tint to the water.

the CUC seem to be doing just fine.

any ideas?
 
I suggest you wait it out. It'll come around. IIRC, you had a heater issue. The bloom might be from stuff being cooked.

What are your ammonia and nitrite levels?

no idea, i didnt test for them, the tests i had were old and testing 0 but i tossed them
 
Ammonia is my main concern. Since you had the heater issue, it might of caused an ammonia spike...making you have to re-cycle the tank.

OMG!! big tank day.

so i went n a cherry picking mission to SWE, wetworld and Muarrys and BOY DID I LUCK OUT!
I got a sweet mystery wrasse from SWE
at Muarrys I got a Labouti Wrasse, a big fat red scooter blenny and the SWEETEST blasto i have ever seen. (i can't wait for ray to come looking for polyps because this one sure is ugly!)
and at wet world i got some cool shrooms and a leapord wrasse.
everything is aclamating right now so when i get them in the tank i will get pics up.


but the biggest purchase? I was at wetworld and saw the AI SOLs on the tank and i fell in love. i bought two on the spot.

so now i pose a question to you LED guys. should i buy more or do you think 2 will be enough on my 36'' by 36'' tank?

I saw both Wrasse at SWE and WetWorld and they both looked awesome.

For the AI:
Depending how you are going to place your corals you might get away with 2.
Low light corals on both ends etc...
If you want to know how intense the light would be on the side you can borrow my PAR meter if you want
 
It also matters just how high your able to mount and how much shadows your rockword ends up creating.

I have 1 AI SOL over a 30" Long tank, height is limited from the top so only about 8" off and it can't cover the area very well.

I would have to think you really would end up with 4 total. Maybe not right away but after your tank becomes more full.

stupid leapord wrasse is already gone! i fed the tank and the other wrasses went bananas. tank is covered and everything.
