Thats doable!

I am using BRS 1.1ml dosers for Ca and Alk. I think the little barb connections should work well, i'm just wondering if I'll need little hose clamps..

Yes you do! I had the tube come off on the alk doser and there was 1 gallon worth of alk powder everywhere... even a tiny rubberband will be good insurance but a ziptie or a tiny clamp will be better.

As for views... keep clicking on your thread and you will get there.. Ray's autobot might get you there faster ;)

I like to race by myself so I set my pace depending on the scenery, right now your thread happens to be where I am so i am admiring your work! good job!

Right now i'm researching what the best way to get phosphates as close to 0 ppm as possible with nitrates between .03-.07. I'm thinking heavy feeding with a couple more fish. I just ordered a Vertex Omega 150 which will be here tomorrow, I believe it will better suit the bioload I have and what I am trying to do. The RO XS160 is just too much skimmer for me!

What did you use to paint the back of the tank?

Two possible ways you can keep phosphates down while keeping some nitrates... run some type of a phosphate reactor.. GFO is popular, or run a ULNS system and add back to the system what you want in there ;)

I did not suggest an ATS because I haven't seen threads where the phosphates are undetectable, they may have been reduced to a level where the hobbyiest sees the tank doing well, but not close to zero.

Be careful with the heavy feeding without an equivalent export mechanism or your tank can go south pretty fast.. dont ask me how I know. oh if you need frozen food to experiment I have tonnes to sell lol

Lol I'm good on frozen for a while, thanks :)

as of right now (and how I perceive it) my only ways of nutrient export is a steady 2-day felt filter sock regime, skimming (hopefully to be effeciently improved upon by the correct sized skimmer), and chaeto.

Now to decifer between organic and in-organic phosphates..
 
I wouldnt count a filter sock in this equation.. its not really isolating nutrients the way a skimmer does by putting it away in a collection cup. all the filter sock is doing is keeping the water clear or floating detritus.

same with Chaeto, unless its being harvested periodically older chaeto is releasing nutrients back.. maybe at a slower rate; you will want the chaeto to grow really fast

Installed the Vertex Omega 150 last night (love it), rearranged some live rock in the sump, and "tried" to do some cord management under the stand but I got sick of it real quick!

As for the frag tank, Ammonia and Nitrites continue to test 0.0 on all my tests kits, beginning to wonder if all the live rock and used tank water was able to skirt a cycle! I will test Nitrates tonight just to make sure!

Be careful with the omega if its for the frag tank. I think it's going to pull too much out. Im having trouble with it getting N03 above 0.00 using salifert test and I do biweekly WC. I change out my filter sock only when it's over flowing with water and sometime wait a few days later to change it out too and I still can't keep it above 0.00. I feed my fish multiple times a day also.

And yes, I love mine too

It's for the 75 display, thanks though :)

I might pick up the 130 for the frag tank. Premium Aquatics just posted about it being 2-3 weeks away.
