Disaster. Let me know what you have maybe I can rehome them for you.
Yea, it was really dumb of me. I thought the sheer number of them would throw things off, I was wrong. I had them in top shape coming out of QT which was rough enough to start with. I pushed things wanting to get another group in QT, really stupid.
Of the 6 existing Lyertail, they were going through power change as the male was beat to heck for the last ~ 8 weeks or so. I knew he would be a gonner, somewhat hoped that would keep them occupied also (not so much, shived and onto the next).
Of the 4x Red Saddle which made it though QT (of 7), I don't think any will make it. I saw one yesterday (day two of this fiasco), no much hope.
Of the 6 Bimaculatus that went in, 4 are pretty strong and eating well and 1 is hit or miss (1 mia). They all are shredded fin wise. Those Bimaculatus are really pretty fish.

I came across a pair of females while in Madison, but the writing on the glass stated a trio and I wondered what happened to the third.

It's normal to not see the Red Saddled much the first week, doesn't seem to matter how confident they were in quarantine. They are timid around large fish but eventually come around. They're less of an open water anthias; I'd be surprised if the Lyretails gave them much trouble.
I lost my male Bimaculatus a few weeks ago to some intestinal parasite (boo), the female is in really good shape though. Tattered fins were the norm when they were together. There are a few bulletproof species in Pseudanthias, but you're venturing into some of the wimpier ones so I wouldn't get too discouraged. It doesn't take much to kill a Red Saddled, the supply chain probably plays more of a role in whether they make it or not.

Not really much aggression from the Lyertails, more like a rouge scouting solo guy just to keep them in check. I think most of the best downs came from the Starki damsel followed by kicks from the blue Midas blennie.

Quick no3 update- after basically a complete failure with AIO Bio Pellets (out of 3 liters there was literally less than 1/4 cup left in the reactor, all pulverized to dust within 3 months) I threw in 1/2 gallon of BRS pellets. I've plugged 3x 7" 200 micron socks in the past 24 hours so seems like the carbon source/bacteria are into overdrive already.
Down side is since I added the ATS (slowly getting seeded) it will be hard to say which is doing what. Who cares, more is better.

What skimmer did you use before, can you tell the difference
Was using two- SWC 250 and a ETSS 800. From a water quality (testable) difference, no not really much of a difference. Things haven't gotten worse (no3 or po4 wise) but the bigger skimmer didn't 'fix' that problem either. From a anticdotal perspective I do think the bigger skimmer helped with cyno issues. Cyno has been a non-issue for sometime now. Could be the various carbon dosing methods I've used too... Who knows.
From a electrical and maintenance perspective it's been good for me, one pump instead of three and only one skimmer to clean. I'm "borrowing" a self cleaning head for my skimmer from Jonty and man those things rock, ways cuts down on maintenance. Self cleaning heads rock.
For you, not having a skimmer at all, anything will be great. Really helps water clarity and cuts the nutrients down in the system. Skimmers have their cons but they pull liquid poo from the water which has to help.

Took the 180g offline, electric bill was way high last month. Swapped out the Pan World 200 for a Iwaki 40 to run the ATS and ozone reactor. ATS and biopellets continue to disappoint, no3 still about the same as always and I broke my po4 test kit months ago. Stick a anemone from Angie in I got some months ago, seems happy.

Yea, thought you'd like that. Two reasons that fuggly fish went in 1. To take the beatings away from the Cooperband and Moorish Idol and 2. I'm so sick of having fish in the basement. It's so nice with nothing living downstairs. It's a fine fish, look great as juvi's but like the Chevron they look ok (to me) as adults.
No, nobody it eating aiptasia. I've got every fish but a Asfur Angel (which I want) who eats that crap in there... Someone has to start munching soon.
I did the egg crate deal for a week, all newbs on one side of the tank with lesser meanies. Worked well.

Marty, your full tank shot looks beautiful! I love the amount of fish, you don't even notice the lack of sand now.

Also, how are the new picky/shy eaters doing with all of the big/fast/aggressive feeders in there? Was 1 week of separation enough that they are comfortable fighting for their share of the food?

15 was by design, more adds to spread the aggression. I had the cooperband, mimic tang, filefish and clown In the 180 connected to the system for months prior. That was always the plan for the 180, a staging area, but really after 2 years I basically used it for that once.
Adding all those to the 75g QT was a shock to a empty system. I let it run empty but no clue how the biological keeps active. I usually do a **** of Amquel on day 2-3 and a water change or to I the first week. With a wet dry the biological bounces back fast.
The whole point of a month long QT and such is the fish are well conditioned. The next day after removing the egg crate all fish were up front and center eating out of my hand/nailing the algae clip. No issues with not getting enough food or out competed (plus with the way I feed a dead squirrel would have enough to eat). Not to say there is not nips or the Moorish Idols streamer isn't way shorter, but being so healthy/conditioned means it don't matter much and they can shrug it off easily.
