So, after a couple of months of watching my corals struggle and wondering why my tank keeps hovering around PH 8.5-8.7 regardless of how much algae I took out and reducing the time for the fuge light, I decided to test the probe. I cleaned and recalibrated the probe and put it back in to find the PH was actually only 7.6
. I changed the fuge light back to 24 hrs on and over the last week it has migrated back up to 7.9, and the corals are looking a tad better. Learning from this, I will be recalibrating probes on a quarterly basis.
Never trust your probes! They are trying to kill your reef!
