I just wanted to share that I'll be coming to the Expo on Saturday with a microscope and just sharing about things I've seen in my own tank. I'll have slides of the phyto I'm culturing, the dino I'm fighting, and the diatoms I'm hoping are winning the battle against the dinos. If anyone wants to bring in a sample of your sand / chaeto / algae to look under the microscope, you're more than welcome to. In fact, I'd be really interested to see the microbiome in other people's tanks.
I've been geeking out observing the little things that live in the brown slime. If you have dinos and want an ID, I can help. I'll have the microscope connected to a small monitor so it's easy for everyone to see. I'm not sure where I'll be situated, maybe at the welcome table or off to the side.
