I didnt get the emperor, I was looking at the asfur too...but just didnt come across one. The mp60 would be great, but *&^*&* they are $$$.

I blanked out, I meant Regal. I've been thinking about an Asfur, but am worried about it eating my lps. Has your Regal been coral hungry?
 
the regal is doing great, eats frozen and pellets. It has not touch any corals so far, when i got my flame back angel pair, they would nips on my sps...but with enough feeding they have stopped and only eat frozen and pellets. My swallowtail angel pair and my lonely lamarck angel has never touched any corals from the beginning.
 
I have been meaning to ask this. What are you doing to control nitrates?? Early on in the thread I didnt see any mention of GFO, carbon dosing etc. In the sump pictures I didnt see anything either. Are you doing all thru the skimmer and 50% monthly water changes?
 
At first i didnt do anything as i didnt have much fishes, but after i got the school of yellow tangs i ended up dosing sugar to keep the N down. about half a spoon daily. When tested with a salifert test kit for N i dont even get a tint of pink. Even freshly made saltwater has a hint of pink in it. I have never real understand it when people said they have 0 Nitrates when they dont dose some kinda of carbon source and Im sure there water is not cleaner then the clean water they just made which has some N in it.
 
very nice AL, i have a swallow tail angel and a bellas angel that i bought from Jayson at Minn petco.
doing very well no signs of any picking at the corals so far, both eating very well.
tank looks awesome.
 
how can you keep so many tangs?
Thats easy, go buy them at the LFS and place them in your tank. Its that easy. :biggthumpup:

Im far from a hero, just a maintenance guy that SWE.:gay1:
