the frostbite has to be Caitlyn since that's the bigger of the two, and therefore the one that's become female.....right?? :look:

Correct. Female is SA Frostbite Subzero and Male is C-Quest
Onyx. The female is quite a bit bigger. Doesn't look that way in pictures but almost 3x the size.

Quick pick as the lights turn on for the day. Added 3 tiny chromis as well. Always liked them and hopefully they will be a distraction for the starcki damsel and flame angel as the clowns get settled in.

What's your experience with the starcki damsel? I think it's a beautiful fish, but am curious to its behavior and such.

Meet Bruce and Caitlyn!

What's your experience with the starcki damsel? I think it's a beautiful fish, but am curious to its behavior and such.

He was the last fish I added to my previous tank. 2 reasons for getting him. I had flat worms (couple articles I read said they have been documented eating them), also I wanted an angel but tank was too small (and I lost a flame back previously). They look just like an angel fish. Everyone asks what kind of angel it is.

As for Flatworms- I never saw any in my display after he was added, can't say I've seen it eat any but they flourished in my fuge.

The starcki was the only fish I transfered to new tank. He lived alone for 2 weeks. When i added the flame angel he definitely showed agression. Makes sense though as he had the whole tank to himself. After a few days he calmed down. Now with all the other fish in the tank he will chase one around here and there but definitely better.

Conclusion is they are a very attractive fish. Not very common. Might eat pests. Are typical damsels and do show a little agression so add last if possible.

Thanks for that. Saw one on divers den last week and wanted to learn more about them. I've been contemplating getting a damsel for some time now, just haven't found the right species yet. Leaning towards a starcki now though.

Quick update with some pics. New phone so just toying around. Still need to learn how to use the DSLR.

Took out sump. Repositioned the baffles, added a filter try. Not as efficient as I was hoping. Will need a few tweeks. Used a beverage tub I had from a party as temporary sump. It fit the color scheme nicely.

Nice polyp extension on your leather coral!
And a nassarius snail getting some love!

I think the red tub looks good sitting down there.
Not the best for filtration, but at least it's looking good.

Couple projects done that I have been putting off. I noticed some salt creep running down my wall behind my tank. There is an outlet back there which had me a little worried. Quick home depot stop and looking around i found this.

So i took it apart to get this

then glued it on the wall, ill add a bead of silicone around top to help keep it water tight

next project was to install these parrallel mounting brackets for my AI hydras. I just had it resting on the top before, looks cleaner. Will look even better once I run the wires behind some cable covers.

On my last tank i had 1 hydra and 2 t5 36" strips. Looks like they fit perfectly. Will need to find something else besides scotched tape to install them but happy they fit!

Got 1 t5 light up. Already liking the spread.

Cord management will be the next project!

Are those T5 fixtures the SunBlasters?
I have a pair of those on the way for my tank, so I'm just wondering how you like them; quality-wise.

Yes they are. I picked them up at a hydroponics store. You will want to buy the "nano reflectors" that are made for them. They do come in a package so hopefully yours are included.

I like them a lot. Compact, built in ballast, and can be daisy chained together (although the included connector cord is pretty short). I think you will be very happy with them. For the price you can't go wrong
