I like how most of the corals are in the same spots but went from nubs to full colonies. Softies are the easy to pick out, nepthia, colt, toadstools, etc.

Also the coraline when nuts.

I like how the coral viewer on the back side rotated 45°. ;)

I think I may have a better way to run my two return pumps. This is because I'm likely giving up on my plans to have two returns coordinated and able balance back and forth for flow variations.

Currently both of my pumps run through the sump at a very high rate, bubbles are not an issue but I don't think it's necessary for the skimmer or other filtration to have all returns go to the sump.

Main problem is my VarioS 8 cannot handle it and gets loud after level three. That same pump in a different application is silent. So to get more flow and not buy powerheads I'm thinking of converting it to a closed loop.

That means 1 emergency drain, 2 regular drains, and 1 closed loop drain.

This could also allow me to adjust the speed of the VarioS to zero during feeding and vary during the day. I won't be able to vary two main pumps back and forth as I hoped but I won't have to buy another pump either.

I do not have check valves on my mains so programming fail safes on the Apex will be important. Anything I'm missing or major flaws in thought?

The day my clam was removed... a grand illustration of why proper alk and calc dosing is imperative to a healthy reef with a clam in my opinion.

The day you took my clam... (o:
Teasing aside I think your set up can dose heavier than mine if I recall.

I have 5 gal dosing buckets of 2 part, yes. But I haven't been running them yet as I'm running without a controller. I guess I'll need to be dosing more manually until I get one running.

The good news is the clam seems to be doing OK. It's opening/closing just fine, though a bit slow. It is turning a bit browner on my sand bed - ATI really needs to get me replacement bulbs so I'm back to running all eight T5s lamps with the LEDs. Where I have it is getting 180-220 PAR. I have a frag rack in the middle of the tank where I had planned to place clams later once I was ready, but I have a bunch of SPS there while I try to color them up a bit before moving them to permanent homes.

Forced to get a new phone so was playing with the Google Pixel 3 xl. Seemed to handle the blue really well/accurately and these photo are all on full digital zoom so the quality is as bad as it gets.

Some of these are 18" away from the lens, all are least 6". All the softies are in quite a bit of current so I'd say at full zoom, low light, blue light, with movement I'm pretty happy.

Not bad photos. How are you liking the Pixel 3 XL? We're considering getting two Pixel 3s since we're both using Nexus 5x phones and they're getting a bit slow.

So far so good, my last phone was still running Android 7 so going to 9 has me watching videos to see what features I didn't know about or basics like accessing menus is different in places. The fingerprint scanner is on the back and online they yip about that on every site but frankly it's super convenient to use your pointer finger.

They did put some bloat on here like a marvel game I can't remove and some others but not alot. Otherwise very responsive. I like that the screen color feels more natural (on my setting) and the white seems more like paper then a flashlight if that makes sense.

Love the pics

Had my eye on getting a Golden Dwarf Angelfish. Made it to the big tank but haven't taken the wall down yet. Glad New Wave was able to get it in ahead of time for me.

The banished cast...

Those pictures look amazing for cell phone pics. As I was scrolling through I would have sworn that was a high end camar with a macro lens,

I know, pretty happy with it! I did start using a yellow filter which helps color accuracy quite a bit. Still have to take 12+ photos if you want it REALLY in focus.

Trying out an extra infrared light with my wyze camera. The close up resolution isn't great only because it seems to have issues focusing through the glass, masking over the camera's built in infrared lights might help. Maybe someone makes a cheap one that can focus better.

I found it interesting that my tang appeared to see the light.
