Tap water vs ro water!! (1 Viewer)

you must live in a super clean well district or something. i did 1!!! water change with tap water about 9 years ago when i didn't know any better and my tank looked like @$$ for about 3 months.

PS that kent maxima 35 GPD is one that i had for years its a pretty solid unit. i paid about 280 for it back in the day.

ugh... i just burped up Cappicola, Soppresatta and giardinari....... that sandwich was good though....

brooklyn park city water? does the water softener "clean" it up? that's the only thing that i can think of that removes anything.

I have a 3 stage RO system, but it seems like the system dispense about 3 times of waste water for every 1 unit of RO water. Is that normal? It seems to be such a waste of water.

i believe it takes 4 gallons on water to make 1 gallon of ro.

Nope softeners just take beneficial things (calcium, magnesium) and replaces them with other ions (sodium?)
Nothing real beneficial. Do you treat your tap with a chlorine remover?
In a deep sandbed system, nutrients will build up if the tap is dirty, and will release down the road, causing a big algae bloom.

Yep I get mine free too from the Lab :)

;) 2 miles of RO membranes, half mile of UV and a biiiiiig DI bin, a whole room's worth. And its all computer controlled with sensors that stop the water if any biological particles are detected. Gotta be clean for washing silicon wafers :gay1:

Chefb: If you're going to this next meeting, I can give you 15 gallons of my water in a jug for the price of the jug. Then you can pay per gallon at the next meetings you go to, as long as you bring the jug back
