There is beer in New Ulm

Back in the 50s, Schell's Brewery (still brewing) had a contest. Whoever wrote the best advertising jingle won an all-expense-paid night in historic New Ulm. 2nd place winner had to spend 2 nights in New Ulm.

Rumor is that Schell's Brewery may be haunted. (I haven't seen the TAPS crew in New Ulm, so what's that tell you?) So whatever or whoever may be haunting that hot spot is either drunk, tired, or just dull & unimaginative. But, if there is interest in traipsing over to the Brewery & then heading back to Jim's for an hour or two of reef talk (um... they serve samples, so I'm still not certain whether this is a good idea..?), Q & I thought that might help generate interest?

There are lots of non-drinkers in the Club, including me for the record, but that doesn't mean we don't know how to have fun.

My house looks haunted, but isn't :-(

You & your family are welcome at any time my friend. Just call ahead (cell in profile). Sometimes I travel for work, although I usually know my schedule a couple weeks in advance.

I am still waiting for photos since Jim won't let me come look at his tank. It used to be that he was worried about me drooling all over the glass but since he used Rain-X thats not an excuse anymore. Now he says that he just cant take all the begging for frags.

Rain-X rocks Starphire! Drips, drool, & fingerprint smudges -- everything buffs out easily now with a clean towel, either paper or cloth. I even use Rain-X on both sides of the smoked glass doors of the Tech stand. So, in light of your gesture (or rather, your mistake in accidentally letting me find out one of your secrets), I have reconsidered the Mrbill Policy and will allow a visit.

Hey, remember one of the frags I owe you, the one I described as "pretty frogspawn?" Fritz identified that as an Octo! It's growing another branch with renewed feedings. I'll put a paste-it note on the glass that says "Mrbill" right next to it

Lots of bars with good food hop skip and a jump from kato. There is/was a cute little b and b on the river just out of town.

I use to live in the one horse town of Gibbon, new ulm or Hutchinson was where I went to do much of anything..

New ulm also has (or had) a target and kmart

so uhh.. how bout some photos eh?

As to why the movie was filmed in Canada and not Minnesota is simple. Unions, taxes and money. It's very spendy to actually film a movie in in the USA, Minnesota I think even has more taxes tacked on.

Juno was based in MN but I don't think it was filmed here. Parts of grumpy old men where filmed here, but not many..

Here are 2 pics from the POS P&S (point & shoot) I bought after work. Nothing like pics from Q's D60, & obviously I have a helluva lot to learn about photography -- but I gotta start somewhere, right? IIRC, Zibba & Hypertech both had good posts in the past, & I think I will do a search.

(Please excuse the little Cyano patch, I know it's unsightly. I have nothing against chemical treatments. I've used them in the past on the 65. But this 120 is less than 5 months old, so I'm trying the natural route of manual extraction, blah blah...)

Josh, the skater-dude kid over at Wal-Mart, made me buy a special card for HD videos. Also a $13 tripod. Which sucks, cause 42" is too short.
